Recently a study was released with a strong push towards more climate change related government policies. It was just another push to get president Trump to re-sign the Paris Climate Agreement.
As you might know, I’m an opponent of the Paris Climate Agreement. This due to the fact that it is a terrible economic policy. Unfortunately, the media fails to notice this. On the other side, it makes total sense from a video perspective. Nice pictures of ice collapsing in the sea are good for the ratings.
Another issue with the ongoing media attention is that the outcome is not certain. How certain are we about the effects of global warming?
I’m not against renewable energy. But blowing billions in subsidies a year sounds like a bad idea to me. Why not allow the market to solve this?
If you look at the situation in The Netherlands they are now making a massive plan to stop global warming. Just think about this: only in The Netherlands, they leave gas. What economic sense does it make to you that only in The Netherlands they are stopping with heating there house with gas? Would it not be a better idea to put solar panels on all rooftops in Africa?
Or simply allow India to support the air conditioning with solar energy? It would increase an increase in living standards on a profitable and sustainable method.
